Brandon St-Martin, CS CWP CSW
I fell into wine for pathetic reasons, really: 1) to impress a girl; 2) and to keep up with wine snob clients at fancy company dinners. The girl and the snobs are long gone, having left me with only my wits and wine.
I started working at a small mom-and-pop winery and vineyard, just outside of Austin, Texas in the Texas Hill Country AVA. That experience prompted me to walk away from the corporate world and take my long-shot chances at pursuing the wine life in Napa Valley. Within a week of arrival to Napa, I was working at a winery dating back to the mid 1870’s. Over the next 6.5 years, I worked with several wineries and vineyards in Napa Valley.
In December 2013, I left the Left (West) Coast for the East Coast, and spent time working in the wine and craft beverage scene in Brooklyn NYC, with wine wine grapes sourced from Long Island, Hudson River Valley, and the Finger Lakes.
Continuing wine adventures led me to Boise Idaho and the Snake River Valley AVA, where I worked in wine sales, marketing, brand management, hospitality, and event planning from 2016 to 2020.
COVID-19 prompted my relocation back to my native York, South Carolina, to be in close proximity to my aging parents during these precarious and uncommon times.
These days, you’ll find me in the foothills of North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, in the bucolic horse and wine country neighboring such stunning destinations as Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, and the Tryon International Equestrian Center. Come pay me a visit sometime, at my latest wine endeavor as Hospitality Manager and Sommelier for the breathtaking Mountain Brook Vineyards and Winery estate in Tryon…
